September 2018 – the Flying Aces Club

The two-day FAC Outdoor Champs and the two-day Ted Dock are happening on the last weekend of September this year: Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun 27-30 September.

The BIGGEST news regarding this is that we will be running concurrently with the 2018 SAM CHAMPS, 23-28 September. As you may know, there are several overlapping events between FAC and SAM.

More News: If you register at the FAC Outdoor Champs, you can fly in the SAM events FOR FREE!

Even More News: There will be a Concourse display for models on Wednesday evening at the AMA Museum and SAM will be awarding a nice trophy for the best FAC model.

MORE More News: SAM will be sponsoring trophies for THREE overlapping events: OT Fuselage, OT Stick, and Jimmie Allen!

Thanks to Stew Meyers, all* of the back issues are now downloadable.

* – Here’s the hitch: the Council voted to have all newsletters – minus the most recent 5 years – available. So what we have today is up to and including Sept/Oct 2013 (#273) online.

“Check them out” in the Library! And there is no need to return them to the library once you check them out – HAWWWW!

A short 15-minute video on the history of Comet Model Airplane Company from 1929-1941 is NOW AVAILABLE online!

I have added a new link to the Comet Catalog Page. (A little cross-contamination to my business history) – when I took over my business, I had a small supply of these DVDs and was able to sell them. I was pleased to find this official copy of the DVD online the other day – it is free to watch for everyone.
